The Houston Texans haven’t yet released quarterback Matt Schaub, but they’re expected to do so before March 11th rolls around and the next year of his contract kicks in. With Schaub heading to free agency, there are a slew of teams eyeballing him and the market could heat up right off the bat for the signal caller.

While he’s likely to be viewed as nothing more than a bridge quarterback, there is already interest from the Browns, Jets and Raiders when it comes to acquiring Schaub’s veteran services.

Th Jets are the least likely team to land Schaub as they cannot promise him the starting role the way that Browns and Raiders would be able to. Oakland is brash enough to pass on a quarterback in the first and second round if they land Schaub as he’s still a starter and is selling himself as such.

With Matt Cassel off the market and back in Minnesota, Schaub will likely draw some of the attention Cassel was, which means we could hear teams like the Buccaneers get involved in Schaub as well.
