The divorce between the Carolina Panthers and Steve Smith is complete but Smith’s career is far from over. It appears he has something left in the tank and even if he didn’t, being cut has clearly manufactured some gas in the tank.
One of the teams being linked to Smith are the Baltimore Ravens, and it appears that they’re already in contact with the recently cut receiver.
This doesn’t mean a contract will be signed right away, but the Patriots got into contact with Darrelle Revis right away and the Broncos called up DeMarcus Ware right away and both ended up with those teams.
Smith seems like a fit for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as well, so it will be interesting to see if they make a play for him. They’ll have competition it seems though, as the Ravens interest in Smith wasn’t to be taken lightly.
