HIGH FIVE/low five

Daily Fantasy can be quite the grind!  Let us do the grinding for you with “High Five/Low Five”.  Each day, we help put you in the money by presenting you with FIVE of the “top-tier” plays, as well as a quick list of FIVE “value plays”.  Miami Heat’ SF LeBron James flies high as Monday’s top Daily Fantasy Basketball play.

Let’s rip it up.

HIGH FIVE:

Point Guard: Mike Conley, MEM ($6,800): It’s all about value with Mike Conley, who has been averaging over 30 FPs over his last five games.  He’ll square off with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are just 26th on the season vs. PGs, and have been playing up in pace just a bit.  Conley should be a safe bet to produce somewhere in the 35 FP range.

Shooting Guard: Gordon Hayward, UTA ($6,800): James Harden is likely to end the night atop this position and makes a fine play, especially if Dwight Howard is declared out, but that much should be obvious.  Hayward, on the other hand, will be taking on a Detroit Pistons’ squad that has had season-long issues in defending SGs.  This game should remain competitive and with Alec Burks out of the lineup, Hayward should see close to 40 minutes.  With that kind of playing time, Hayward should be able to get 30-35 FPs, maybe more.

Also worth a look is Randy Foye, DEN ($5,900) vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder, who have been routinely getting lit up by SGs in recent weeks.

Small Forward: LeBron James, MIA ($10,300)/Kevin Durant, OKC ($12,000): Both of these superstars have an excellent matchup and a floor in the 45-FP range.  Obviously, one could move ahead of the other depending on what the news is regarding Russell Westbrook and Dwyane Wade‘s availability.  However, assuming they’re both in or both out, I like LeBron just a tad better, if only because his price is lower.

Power Forward: Anthony Davis, NO ($10,800): I’ll just keep listing Anthony Davis here until he doesn’t have a 50+FP game, or his matchup is significantly worse than similarly priced players at his position.  Fortunately, neither one of those is the case today, so here he is.  At this point, you roster him and expect 50 FPs.

Center: Chris Bosh, MIA ($6,600): Bosh has had his way with the Portland Trail Blazers recently, and I suspect that will continue tonight — especially if Dwyane Wade sits as he’s expected to.  Value for Bosh is just 33 FPs this game, and given his recent play vs. Portland, 35-40 FPs seems like a great possibility.  Either way, meeting value should be no problem.

Al Jefferson, CHA ($9,400) makes a fine play as always, but is one I’m more willing to pull the trigger on if Dwight Howard is out.  Current news though suggest Howard will suit up tonight.

low five:

Point Guard: Shaun Livingston, BKN ($4,500): Value for Livingston is a mere 22.5 FPs, which is lower than his average over the last eight games.  My guess is that he keeps producing and gets 20-25 FPs in this matchup vs. the New Orleans Pelicans, who are just 23rd on the season vs. SGs.

Shooting Guard: Gerald Henderson, CHA ($5,200): Not a lot of clear-cut value at this position today, but Henderson could make a nice value play.  He’ll be playing up in pace in a plus matchup against the Houston Rockets, who’ve been in the league’s bottom third vs. SGs for much of the season.

Small Forward:  Richard Jefferson, UTA ($3,500): A boom or bust type selection, but with Alec Burks out, Jefferson should see some extra run.  He did put up nearly 30 FPs last game.  Maybe lightning strikes twice ?

Power Forward: Josh McRoberts, CHA ($5,000): Houston has been poor all season long against PFs.  I’m thinking that McRoberts can continue his recent string of good play and lay down 25 FPs.

Center: Tiago Splitter, SA ($5,000): The Philadelphia 76ers are horrible across the board and Splitter is on a roll.  He’s topped value in four straight games, and with some extended run vs. Philly, he should make it five straight.

Thank you and good luck tonight!!!
