Ronnie Lott praises former Oregon Ducks CB Terrance Mitchell
By Stu White
Former Oregon Ducks cornerback Terrance Mitchell worked out with NFL legend Ronnie Lott earlier this month, and the Hall of Famer came away from the experience with nothing but praise for the 21-year-old.
Here’s what Lott had to say about Mitchell to The Oregonian:
"“Today was a phenomenal day, and the reason why it was phenomenal was the fact that I saw a young man with a dream of being great in the National Football League. The other thing that I thought was phenomenal was the fact that he understands he’s got to learn a lot of new things in this league. … I believe he’s going to be a great football player in the National Football League.”"
Mitchell drew mixed reviews at the NFL Scouting Combine last month, performing well in the three-cone drill and the 20-yard shuttle but running a disappointing 4.63-second 40-yard dash. However, his superb Oregon career should (theoretically) offset some of those lackluster numbers, so don’t be surprised to see him creep up the board on draft day.
