Last year wasn’t exactly a wasted year for St. Louis Rams rookie wide receiver Tavon Austin, but it wasn’t exactly the season everyone had in mind either.

Multiple times last year, game announcers and analysts wondered why the Rams weren’t featuring Austin on a more regular basis after the receiver would make a huge play or an electrifying run.

Head coach Jeff Fisher seems to have heard the grumblings and is preparing to use the talented pass-catcher more next season and he expects Austin’s production to increase.

"“I think another year in the program, in the offense, OTAs, training camp, you’ll see more production. I think we’ll do a better job of using him now that we know what he’s capable of doing. Kind of looking forward to see him improve from Year One to Year Two.”"

Austin had 40 catches for 418 yards and four touchdown last season. It seems kind of strange that Fisher only now seems to know what he has with the former first round pick. Everyone else knew last season.
