Big Apple OS X changes coming?

With the WWDC, Apple’s centerpiece developers conference, right around the corner, it looks as though we may be right to expect a new version of OS X.

The expected big news was to be iOS 8, the next big thing for Apple’s mobile platforms.  It sounds like, for the first time since 2007, the headlines could be focused around OS X. 9to5Mac broke the big news recently.  Though Mavericks was received well, Apple is apparently looking to make a huge splash with the next version of OS X.  The visual overhaul is expected to be along the lines of the massive leap iOS 6 to iOS 7 was.

In looking ahead to the next version of Apple’s OS X, we can only guess as to what it will be entitled.  At this point, the rumored codename is Syrah, after the wine.  Apple also has current registered trademarks for Yosemite, Mammoth, and Diablo.

With the news surrounding OS X for Apple’s WWDC, there is a lot to be excited about.  Almost assuredly, OS X will feature current bits and pieces from iOS 7 which would be a breath of fresh air on the desktop OS.  Also, looking ahead at what Apple has in store, it looks as if the company may be unveiling a new Apple TV model as well.  As we noted recently, Siri could be making its Apple TV debut.

Let us know what next Apple rollout excites you most and keep tuned in to FanSided for everything regarding WWDC 14.
