Love him or hate him, and I’ve said this numerous times before, Los Angeles Dodgers star Yasiel Puig has baseball skills that you just can’t deny. He continually shows us that he’s one of the most physically gifted players in the game today and Thursday night was no different as he showcased his amazing fielding skills against the Mets.

With Wilmer Flores at the plate for the Mets in the bottom of the second inning with a runner on first, watch in the video below as Puig makes probably the most outstanding outfield play that we’ve seen so far in this young 2014 baseball season.

There are few human beings on the planet that can pull off that catch, and Puig just happens to be one of them. With a normal outfielder, that ball probably bounces through and makes its way to the wall. But with Puig out there–no, not tonight. Instead that’s an out.

While maybe a little biased, the Dodgers twitter account seems to think that was the catch of the year thus far.

What do you think? Was that the best web gem that we’ve seen this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
