The San Antonio Spurs shocked the Miami Heat and stole history out from under them and in the process made very rich men out of a few of their bit players. Two of those players are Boris Diaw and Patty Mills and is seems that they now have an opportunity to cash in on their success.

But while both players have a chance to leave the Spurs and seek out larger, more lucrative contracts with other teams that may or may not give them larger roles, it seems Diaw and Mills are content with their situation and may forgo bigger pay for another shot at a title.

According to Steven Kyler from Basketball Insiders, the Spurs are unlikely to lose either Diaw or Mills this offseason as both seem to be happy with their situation in San Antonio and both are expected to be back with the team unless some sort of massive contract comes their way.

"Always comes down to money, but both are really happy with their situation. The Spurs will have some flexibility to retain them. I don’t see either leaving. Of the two it might be Mills, but I doubt that."

The Spurs are geared to make another run at the title next year and Mills and Diaw are in perfect situations to succeed. They aren’t elite level players anyways, so chasing a contract that sees them leave San Antonio may end up making them richer but could end up putting them in a situation they regret this time next year.
