The NBA Draft is almost here and that means that the trade season is back in full swing ahead of the big event. Not every trade we’re going to hear about will directly involve draft picks, but most moves being made could have an impact on where teams decide to go in the draft even if it’s just veteran players being moved.

More from Dallas Mavericks

That seems to be the case with the New York Knicks and Dallas Mavericks, who are reportedly in advanced talks to swap Tyson Chandler and Raymond Felton for as many as three Mavericks players.

According to Marc Stein from ESPN.com, the Mavericks would be taking on Chandler — again — as well as Felton in exchange for Jose Calderon, Samuel Dalembert and Shane Larkin.

The trade talks seemed to be mre advanced than others that we’ve been hearing involving other teams and other players, but the swap could have massive ramifications on the Knicks chances of re-signing Carmelo Anthony. Chandler is notably one of Melo’s closest friends on the team and if he’s shipped out, then that could be telling about how the Knicks are viewing their chances of bringing him back this summer.
