I admire this fan’s ingenuity. He wanted to wear a cowboy hat to the baseball game, but didn’t have a cowboy hat. Rather than let this get him down, he fashioned a cowboy hat out of a beer box.

More from Boston Red Sox

He could’ve bought a cowboy hat, but no. He said to himself, “Why spend money on a cowboy hat when I can make my own cowboy hat? Out of a box that once held beer.”

Not only is he saving money, he’s saving the environment by repurposing his beer boxes.

If this guy plays his cards right, this could turn into a whole money-making enterprise for him. He could end up designing and creating his own line of beer box hats and selling them. I bet lots of people would be interested in buying those.

I’m glad this guy got his souvenir. If anyone ever deserved to catch a foul ball, it was the guy who made a cowboy hat out of a beer box. We salute you, beer box cowboy hat guy. You are a true American and a friend to the earth. Enjoy your foul ball.
