Washington Redskins sign Jerry Rice Jr
By Josh Hill
The Washington Redskins are trying to fight to keep their team name but despite that distraction they’re still trying to add players that they think will help them rebound in 2014. After adding names like DeSean Jackson and others in the offseason, Washington has added the son of a former legend as Jerry Rice Jr inked his deal with the team on Thursday afternoon.

Rice is still vastly unproven and this signing is, at the time, more of a story because of the name he bares rather than the player he is. But if there’s a bloodline to be connected to if you want to be an elite wide receiver in the game then Jerry Rice isn’t a bad guy to have as a father.
The younger Rice tried out for the Redskins earlier in the week and has now reached an agreement to play there — or at least try to play there — this upcoming season.
Rice also posted a photo of his new contract with Washington to his personal Instagram account.
