On Tuesday morning, NBA center and draft bust Greg Oden was arrested for reportedly assaulting his girlfriend. The incident added to the long list of failures from the NBA ‘star.’ Every time Oden’s name appears in the press, Blazers fans ask themselves “what did he do now?”

The story is all over the internet, and you can read it on USA Today or ESPN. But, as Yahoo Sports pointed out, Oden was wearing an Ohio State Football t-shirt commemorating Marcus Hall’s ejection from the OSU-Michigan game, where he furiously walked off the field holding up middle fingers on both hands.

Greg Oden has had a pretty terrible NBA career that is marked mainly by disappointing injuries and sub-par performance. His play has brought him a ridiculous, and sometimes excessive, amount of criticism.

Even Sam Bowie, who was famously picked (by Portland, ironically) over Michael Jordan, had a respectable NBA career. Nothing that would get him a hall-of-fame vote, but he did regularly contribute to the teams he played for.

Marcus Hall left the game against Michigan in disgrace, giving the opposing fans the ultimate symbol of disrespect. Greg Oden’s arrest likely will mark the end of his career with the NBA. Like Hall, he is exiting the game in ignominy. The fact the Oden’s wearing the t-shirt that celebrates Hall’s exit is all too ironic.
