Jim Kelly has been a busy man lately. He was the star of Hall of Fame weekend early in August when his former teammate and lifelong friend Andre Reed was inducted in Canton, Ohio. He has been involved in a bid to purchase his former team, the Buffalo Bills. Oh, and he’s been battling cancer. So file this one under the ‘Um, duh’ category: Jim Kelly recently had to take the time to say no to Dancing with the Stars.

The Time Warner Cable News Staff writes that Kelly’s daughter, Erin, tweeted out the news, as seen in the series of tweets below.

Well that’s certainly understandable. The recovery alone would be reason to wipe just about anyone off the map for a dancing competition, but add in that high-stakes came of Billionaire’s Roulette currently being played with the Ralph Wilson Estate and it’s a no-brainer that Jim Kelly would consider himself too busy to go on. Clearly if he’s dancing in the kitchen though, it must have given him some pause. There’s always next year, Jim.
