St. Louis Rams vs Cleveland Browns

  1. Truly sad news came out of this game as Sam Bradford re-injured his torn ACL, and is out for the season again for the second year in a row.  This is terrible news for the Rams.  I guess from a fantasy standpoint it isn’t a crushing blow since most leagues have not drafted yet.
  2. Bradford’s replacement, Shaun Hill, saw limited action going 2 of 6 for 45 yards.  Unfortunately for the Rams this season will likely be a mirror of last year as Zac Stacy will be the only offensive fantasy star on this team.  Stacy will receive a bigger workload and will be relied on heavily.
  3. As for the newly named starter Brian Hoyer, his performance left much to be desired.  Hoyer ended his night going 10 of 16 for 84 yards, with a  touchdown and an interception. Johnny Manziel saw some playing time as well, and had almost mirrored performances with Hoyer.  The difference was Manziel notched a rushing touchdown instead of throwing one.
  4. Andrew Hawkins is a nice sleeper candidate if Josh Gordon is indeed suspended for the entire season.  Hawkins was targeted five times, catching all of them for 36 yards and a touchdown. If Gordon is suspended, Hawkins will step up to receive all of the targets as Cleveland’s number one receiver.
