Texas A&M Midnight Yell Practice is one of these silly college traditions that you forget exist until they come back around every year to remind you of how dumb they are.

More from College Football

Because Texas A&M is starting their season against South Carolina, Midnight Yell was held early Thursday morning on the steps of the South Carolina state Capitol in Columbia.

Guess what? A bunch of South Carolina fans showed up to boo and jeer the Texas A&M fans practicing their yells. And the cops had to come clear it up.

The tweets from the scene demonstrate the rowdiness of the affair. It didn’t quite descend into a Ferguson situation thankfully. But it was stupid enough.

Stupid.
