Yes, that James Michael McAdoo, was an undrafted free agent. The same kid that was a projected lottery pick as a freshman at the University of North Carolina, went undrafted in the 2014 NBA Draft.
McAdoo struck a deal today with the Golden State Warriors, and the terms will be for one year. Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports is reporting that the deal took place today.
For the Warriors, McAdoo is a player they can add the poses only upside. While his frame never quite filled out at North Carolina, McAdoo has a significant amount athleticism and basketball acumen. He played stretches over the past few years where he looked incredibly gifted, but was never able to put it all together.
With David Lee and Andrew Bogut still on the roster, McAdoo will have to show well prior to securing any playing time. However, he should feel somewhat at home playing alongside former North Carolina teammate, Harrison Barnes.
Look for McAdoo to start his quest in making himself stick with the Warriors as the NBA season rolls around later this fall.
