The Green Bay Packers will host the New York Jets for its home-opener on Sunday at Lambeau Field. Keys to Victory
It will be crucial for the Packers’ passing game to get back on track in this one. Aaron Rodgers and Co. struggled versus the Seahawks, but have a real opportunity to take advantage of a weakened Jets secondary on Sunday. Also, having Eddie Lacy active would boost Green Bay’s chances of taking this one. Lacy, who was named 2013 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, suffered a concussion against Seattle and his status for Week 2 is unknown at this point.
For the Jets, obviously slowing down Green Bay’s aerial attack is a necessity. New York doesn’t have a talented enough offense to keep up with the Packers in a shootout. But if New York can hold Green Bay to just a few touchdowns and control the ball with Chris Johnson and the running game, the Jets could pull off the upset.
Betting Odds
Point Spread: Packers (-8)
Moneyline: NYJ: 330, GB: -400
O/U: 46.0
Prediction
Motivated to avoid an 0-2 start, the Packers come out firing this one. Rodgers finds his form and carves up the Jets defense. New York is able to hang around for a bit and puts some points on the board against a less-than-stellar Green Bay defense, but it’s ultimately not enough.
Final Score: Packers – 31 Jets -14
