Gordon pleaded guilty to DUI on Tuesday morning making many wonder if the league will add two additional games to his suspension. It’s a valid argument considering the NFL has added a two-game suspension to the new drug policy for DUI’s, but according to Pro Football Talk the NFL will not increase Josh Gordon’s suspension despite the guilty plea.
That’s the word from Pro Football Talk who suggests the tw0-game suspension wouldn’t be retroactive.
Given Josh Gordon was already suspended the NFL probably wasn’t thrilled with the idea of a potential legal fight just to add two games onto the suspension, so they decided to leave things as they are. Probably a smart move given the amount of backlash the league has received in the past week, even though what Gordon did was incredibly stupid.
Under the new drug policy, while Gordon will not be allowed to play until Week 12, he can still be at the team facility.
