Veteran guard Ray Allen is mulling retirement but if he decides to come back, he has no shortage of suitors. The Miami Heat would love to have Allen back and both the Cleveland Cavaliers and San Antonio Spurs are also in pursuit.

Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors believes Allen will eventually wind up with the Spurs.

"I had the Spurs as the leader in this race for a while, but they’re clearly preparing for him not to come. The Bulls make sense, though their deal with E’Twaun Moore is a signal that they don’t think he’ll go there, either, even though they left the door open a crack by only guaranteeing half of Moore’s salary. I think Ray has reservations about playing for David Blatt — he’s spoken of a desire for a veteran coach, but Cleveland seems to make as much sense as anywhere. I think you’ll end up there, Ray."

Allen would clearly help any team but he seems like an especially good fit for the Spurs although it may be hard for him to find playing time with Danny Green on the roster.

Allen averaged 9.6 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game while shooting 44.2% from the field, 37.5% from three and 90.5% from the free throw line last season. Allen, was originally selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves with the fifth-overall pick in the first round of the 1996 NBA Draft and was dealt to dealt to the Milwaukee Bucks. He has since  played for the Seattle Supersonics, Boston Celtics and Miami Heat.Over the course of his brilliant, 18-year career,  he has averaged 18.9 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 45.2% from the field, 40.0% from beyond the arc and 89.4% from the free throw line.
