Dion Jordan suspension lifted; suspended another 4 games

Miami Dolphins pass rusher Dion Jordan, who was the No. 3 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, will be eligible to return to the team on Oct. 20.

Jordan’s initial four-game suspension was lifted, before a new four-game suspension came under the NFL’s new substance abuse policy. He will now miss six total games and the suspension is without pay.

Jordan’s return will come after the Dolphins face off against the Chicago Bears on October 19.

In the meantime, Jordan is undergoing treatment.

“I am currently undergoing treatment to address my situation. I am working hard to become a better man & to make better choices,” Jordan said, via Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald.  “I am especially looking forward to returning to the team.  I also want to thank my family, Coach Philbin and the Miami Dolphins organization for their support.”

Dolphins coach Joe Philin also commented on the new suspension saying, “While we were disappointed to learn of this result, we support Dion for proactively taking steps to voluntarily seek treatment.”
