Week 3! We’re officially nearing the point in the season when I start to get a feel for NFL predictions and where teams stand — or at least to the point when I think I have a feel for that stuff.

If you read last week’s column, you know Week 2 wasn’t kind to me. I went 6-9. But, in my defense, I was unaware that Robert Griffin III would sprain his ankle, allowing Washington’s best quarterback to step in and carry the Redskins to an easy 41-10 win. I was also unaware that the referees in the Monday Night game would miss a blatant holding penalty against T.Y. Hilton that ultimately propelled the Eagles past the Colts.

So I should be 8-7. Okay, no I shouldn’t. But let me believe that I should.

Anyway, Sunday is going to be fun. We get: a good early slate (one that includes Detroit at Green Bay and a suddenly-intriguing San Diego at Buffalo), a Super Bowl XLVIII rematch, and a pretty good Sunday Night game (Pittsburgh at Carolina).

Personally, I can’t wait. Here are my Week 3 picks.
