Drew Stanton will once again be the starter when the Cardinals take on the Broncos

The Arizona Cardinals have been one of the NFL’s most surprising teams this year.

More from Arizona Cardinals

They are currently sitting at 3-0 and first in the NFC West division. They have a very difficult game against the Denver Broncos at Mile High this coming week and their starting quarterback Carson Palmer will miss yet another game due to injury. What does that mean? Drew Stanton will get yet another start, and he will have another chance to prove himself to the rest of the league.

Needless to say, this is going to be a very intriguing game to keep an eye on Drew Stanton against such a quality opponent.

Drew Stanton  has always been a quality backup quarterback, but has been overlooked for the majority of his career. So far this season, he has thrown for 411 yards and two touchdowns, while not turning the football over at all. Arizona’s offense isn’t as good as it has been in the past, but they are good enough to win football games with their defense as strong as it is.

Denver is going to be the toughest test for Arizona to this point in the season, but they have another chance to prove that they are for real. The Cardinals defeated the San Francisco 49ers a couple weeks back but the 49ers haven’t been playing very well this season. Peyton Manning is going to be a whole new test for the Cardinals’ defense and the Broncos’ improved defense is going to look to put pressure on Drew Stanton and force him him into mistakes.

At the age of 30, Drew Stanton has a good amount of NFL experience under his belt. He is ready for this type of a test, and it will be interesting to see whether or not they are able to knock off the Broncos on the road. It wouldn’t be terribly surprising to see them come up with a huge win over one of the best teams in the league and prove that they are a legitimate threat in the NFC this year.

Expect to see a very competitive game with Drew Stanton once again playing a very solid game in place of Carson Palmer.
