Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner believes quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will eventually get to where he needs to be after some work.

Although Teddy Bridgewater has only made a few starts in his rookie season, offensive coordinator Norv Turner likes what he sees so far.

According to Josh Alper’s article and the Minnesota Star-Tribune, Turner said Bridgewater was a “work in progress.” He also went on to say that he gets nervous when Bridgewater takes hits outside the pocket.

“Those are the ones where you get thrown to the ground and banged around pretty good. He’s got good sense in the pocket. He’s getting better at getting the ball out, and he threw the ball away a couple of times on Sunday when there was nowhere to throw it; whereas against Detroit on those plays, he took sacks,” said Turner.

Bridgewater has the second-highest interception percentage this season at 4.40, just behind fellow rookie Blake Bortles.

The Vikings travel to Tampa Bay to face the 1-6 Buccaneers this weekend.

In his four starts, Bridgewater has thrown just one touchdown to his five interceptions. His team has one just once during that span and finds themselves last in the NFC North. On a positive note, Bridgewater is averaging almost five yards per rush and has scored once on the ground.

Given the distractions and negative publicity the Minnesota Vikings have encountered this season, Teddy Bridgewater seems to be a bright light at the end of the tunnel.

Be patient Vikings’ fans. Bridgewater might be what the Vikings have been looking for.

Look for the Vikings to get back on track against the lowly Bucs this weekend.
