Robert Griffin III reiterated on Friday that he won’t play until his dislocated ankle is 100% ready.

In a statement released Friday, Robert Griffin III made things pretty clear that he won’t be returning to the field a second before his injured ankle is back to 100%.

According to an article written by Around the NFL writer Chris Wesseling and the Washington Times, Robert Griffin III took to a famous quote from Winston Churchill:

"“A quote that I stumbled upon during this process of being injured and being out was by Winston Churchill,” Griffin said. “And it says, ‘Courage is what it takes to stand up and do something. Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.’ “"

The Washington Redskins (2-5) find themselves in last place in the NFC East and battle the NFC-leading Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football this week.

Head coach Jay Gruden said that his team has been preparing for Colt McCoy to start the game Monday, but won’t make an official announcement until that day.

RGIII, who injured the ankle in Week 2, took team reps for the second straight day, including a few first team snaps.

Since his injury, the Redskins have played both Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy. Cousins was extremely erratic, leading to Gruden’s decision to “start” McCoy on Monday night.

Through 30 games in the NFL, RGIII has only completed 63.3% of his passes and 36 touchdowns.

I’m no Redskins’ expert, but I still think RGIII gives his team their best shot to win, but ONLY if healthy.
