Clemson was on the verge of scoring before running back C.J. Davidson fumbled the football, giving Syracuse the ball.

During certain times in a college football game it takes only one play to completely change the momentum from one team’s end and give it all to the other team. Clemson appeared as if they were about to get a touchdown, as they drew up a perfectly designed play, which left a huge hole for running back C.J. Davidson to have a gift-wrapped touchdown. Davidson lost control of the ball, and instead of having a touchdown that would have put Clemson in front, Davidson fumbled.

Although it’s still early in the game, turning the ball over in the redzone is never good, and instead of being up 10-3 or 6-3 at the half, Clemson now trails 6-3 due to that lazy turnover. When you’re the 21st ranked team in the country, you can’t afford to play like that because teams are doing everything possible to beat you every single week.

The Clemson Tigers are in danger of dropping out of the top 25 rankings with a loss to Syracuse this week and if they continue to turn the ball over they will have a tough time winning this game or any other game. The game is still for the taking, so Clemson still has a chance of winning if they play better in the second half.
