Ryan Moore Wins PGA Tour CIMB Classic Again
Ryan Moore won the CIMB Classic for the second straight year Sunday when he carded a 17-under par for the tournament.
Ryan Moore has won the PGA Tour’s CIMB Classic for the second straight year when he finished with a 17-under 271 at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club in Malaysia to become the first player to defend a title on the PGA Tour since Tiger Woods did it at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in 2013.

This is the third straight year that Ryan Moore, 31, has won a tournament on the PGA Tour’s fall schedule after winning the CIMB in 2013 and the Shriners Hospital Open in 2012.
Ryan Moore shot a 5-under 67 for a three-stroke win, beating fellow American Gary Woodland, who was the runner-up for the event for the second straight year. Sergio Garcia (69) and Kevin Na (70) shared a three-way tie for second with Woodland who shot a 67 on Sunday.
Moore had eight birdies against three bogeys in the final round, and earned his fourth PGA Tour title, adding the three previously mentioned to the Wyndam Championship that he won in 2009.
Ryan Moore said in his press conference after the match that he needs to figure out why he plays so well in the fall, and try to play that way throughout the chunk of the PGA Tour season in the spring and summer.
”I’ve been thinking about that for a while trying to figure out why,” Moore said. ”Maybe it’s because the end is near. I see that I’m going to have six or seven weeks off pretty soon and it’s like ‘it’s the home stretch, just play some good golf and finish off the year’. I’ve got to figure that out and try to approach every tournament that way.”
Ryan Moore has yet to finish in the top-1o in the PGA Tour FedEx Cup rankings in his career. He’s finished top-10 in the U.S. Open and PGA Championship PGA Tour major tournaments and in the top-20 in all four. He currently ranks fourth in the FedEx Cup rankings and will look to keep that going for the rest of the season.
