During the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 5-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Sunday, a couple of fans got what has probably been coming for them for a while when a scuffle ended in the two men falling down the stairs.
The fight started off pretty normally, with a Leafs fan getting a little belligerent with a Sens fan (and vice versa, if we’re being honest).
Things got out of hand pretty quickly, as these things tend to do. Duh.
Then, they got REALLY out of hand.
Credit to the Leafs fan for dumping a beer on a Senators fan then running away as fast as humanly possible, but even more credit to the Senators fan who launched himself at the hit-and-run dumper and held him in the melee.
Honestly, I was shocked that anyone would waste a beer like that — what is wrong with you? Beer is good. Save your beer, and drink it while you watch the mayhem unfold.
Use common sense.
As soon as the beer got dumped, all hell broke loose, with multiple mini-scuffles breaking out.
Don’t get distracted by the surrounding brawls, though. If you keep your eye on the original two antagonists, you’ll catch the Senators fan launch himself at the Leafs fan with such momentum that he knocked them both into the aisle … and down the stairs.
Wonderfully classy.
*Bonus: slow claps for the person who commented on the video that the staircase tumble was simply a foreshadowing metaphor for both teams’ seasons. That was bold.*
