New England Patriots (PK) over Seattle Seahawks

This line is all over the place. Seattle opened as a favorite in most locales, but New England was quickly bet up to as much as a 2-point favorite. Now, there is sharp money coming back on Seattle, and to be honest, it feels like a coin flip.

Let me just say this. If you are not someone who just wants to bet the side to have a rooting interest, I would walk away here.

Because it’s the Super Bowl, I have to give a pick, and I’m taking the Patriots. Simply put, I trust Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and that trust receives double emphasis in the midst of a team-wide “eff you” mode in a world after DeflateGate. Brady has been playing at an extremely high level since early in the season, and with two weeks to game plan against this potent Seattle defense, a wrinkle or two should be expected.

The Seahawks are difficult to pick against, and that is where the apprehension begins. Seattle has given us no reason to doubt them defensively (just ask Green Bay), and they seem to have a knack for winning games where they have no business leaving the stadium victorious. In a world where both sides feel right, though, I’m taking Brady for number four.
