The criticism of the Seattle Seahawks play-call at the end of the game continues.
The Seahawks were inside the New England Patriots 1-yard line in the final minute of the game down 28-24. They would absolutely need a touchdown in this situation, a field goal does them no good and a touchdown would most likely win the game for them. With a second-and-goal on the 1-yard line, and having one of the best power-runners in the NFL in Marshawn Lynch, there’s no chance they don’t run the ball.

To everyone’s surprise, Seattle chose to not put the ball back in Lynch’s hand. Instead, they run a slant with a pick-route. The pass from Russell Wilson was intercepted by Patriots rookie defensive back Malcolm Butler, which basically put a nail in the Seahawks’ coffin.
After the game, many players were heard openly criticizing the play call. This time, it was Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin speaking his mind openly to the media about the decision to not run the ball.
Bruce Irvin was clearly frustrated after the interception, as he was involved in an altercation following a Tom Brady kneel-down with the game basically over. He was ejected from the game.
