‘Lost River’ trailer starring Ryan Gosling released (Video)

Trailer released for new Ryan Gosling movie, “Lost River.”

The trailer for the upcoming movie, Lost River was dropped yesterday. The movie stars Ryan Gosling and Mad Men‘s Christina Hendrix. Matt Smith, known for his role as the infamous Doctor in Doctor Who, also seems to have a large part.

Gosling not only stars in, but directs the movie. Eva Mendes is listed in the credits as well.

Lost River marks Gosling’s directorial debut and set for a straight to video release this April. This means that there will be no chance to see this one in theaters. Perhaps Netflix one day?

The plot of the movie is described as the following:

"A single mother enters a dark lifestyle after facing economic difficulties. Meanwhile her eldest son has to take care of his younger brother because of the absence of their mother and gets into trouble with the town’s feared bully, while trying to help to get some money to help his mother. Afterward, he uncovers a road leading to an underwater utopia."

Lost River received less-than-favorable reviews at its showing Cannes and that may be the reason that it’s getting the straight-to-home-video treatment. Surely not the way Gosling wanted to start his career in directing.
