Comedian Chris Rock joked to former Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson that Stephen Curry is now willing to play defense for the “white man,” referring to the Warriors’ current coach, Steve Kerr.

Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry is having the best defensive season of his career, as he currently holds an 101.0 defensive rating (points allowed per 100 possessions).

Chris Rock apparently doesn’t believe that’s a coincidence.

The comedian joked in a video wishing former Warriors coach Mark Jackson a happy birthday that Curry’s showing more effort on the defensive end because he now has a white coach (Steve Kerr).

Take a look:

Now, that’s funny.

On a serious note, it has to eat at Jackson watching the Warriors thrive under Kerr. Golden State was a tough team during Jackson’s three-year run as coach, but they’ve become an absolute juggernaut in Kerr’s first season.

The Warriors currently possess an incredible 63-15 record, 9.5 games better than the second-place Houston Rockets. This is a Warriors team that’s poised to make a deep playoff run and could ultimately hoist the Larry O’Brien Trophy in June.

Also, with averages of 25.9 points, 8.5 assists, 4.7 rebounds and three steals per game this season, Stephen Curry is among the favorites to take home the regular season MVP trophy.

That can’t make Jackson feel very good.
