Los Angeles Kings star Jarret Stoll was reportedly arrested and booked on a cocaine possession charge on Friday night.

The Los Angeles Kings are at home watching the Stanley Cup playoffs this year, but Jarrett Stoll is watching in an entirely different place.

Stoll was reportedly arrested and booked on cocaine and MDMA possession in Las Vegas. Initial reports of his arrest were doubted, but those first reports we’re eventually confirmed — which is beyond unfortunate for the Kings and for Stoll.

According to Kings reporter Rich Hammond, Stoll was indeed arrested and booked for a drug possession charge — which is less than amazing news.

Los Angeles isn’t in the postseason, but this is the last hitting they wanted to deal with entering an offseason which might feature serious change. The season ended with the team locking their head coach, Daryl Sutter, out of the locker room and things have very clearly gone downhill from there.

The defending champs being out of the postseason is a bad thing, but this business with Stoll is on an entirely different level of awful.

Of course, this is all alleged at the moment, but the fact that he was ideed arrested and booked on drug charges is a bad thing. It’s pretty damning to be simply mentioned in the same sentence as a drug charge but it’s an entirely different ballgame to be actually charged.

That’s the situation that Stoll is in, and this is a situation the Kings will have to wait and watch play out before they can make any moves with Stoll this offseason.
