Philadelphia Eagles, Tim Tebow agree to deal

The Philadelphia Eagles have made some crazy offseason moves but perhaps the wildest involves signing Tim Tebow. 

If you thought the Philadelphia Eagles trading for Sam Bradford was a bad idea, then they gave you a reason to think it wasn’t so bad.

The one thing that the Eagles could do to that would have been worse than trading for Sam Bradford would have been signing Tim Tebow — which is exactly what they did on Sunday afternoon. Call it a divine day, or maybe it was the football gods resting, but Tim Tebow has worked his way back into the NFL.

Tim Tebow’s signing means the Eagles can officially change their name to ‘The Wounded Ducks’.

There are crazy idea and then there’s whatever Chip Kelly is trying to pull in Philly. It was one thing to trade way LeSean McCoy but he’s made every single move since then with a very clearly defined ‘no fu-cks given’ attitude — and it’s been spectacular.

Tim Tebow is being brought in as a quarterback too, which is even more interesting. He’s probably going to be tried out in other positions on the offense but the very fact that he’s back in the NFL is notable in so many ways.

Perhaps most notably is that Tim Tebow is a plague for the head coaches who give him a chance. Josh McDaniels was fired after drafting Tebow, everyone in New York was fired when the Jets brought in Tebow and Bill Belichick’s Super Bowl win was tainted by a deflate-gate controversy.

If Chip Kelly didn’t care about what you thought of him before, he really doesn’t care anymore.

People have wanted Chip Kelly purged from Philly for a while now, and they may have been given a gift from the heavens with Tebow’s arrival in Philadelphia.
