5 Possible Tom Brady excuses for missing the Patriots’ White House visit
By Tim Mack
Tom Brady missed the Patriots’ recent White House meeting with the President. Here are five possible explanations for his absence.
The New England Patriots visited the White House Thursday, as is tradition for every NFL team that wins a Super Bowl. Usually the whole team attends the time-honored tradition, but the Patriots’ visit was marked by a notably absent Tom Brady. What could have been so important that Tom Brady, the Super Bowl MVP, would miss meeting with the leader of the free world? It is not the kind of event you just blow off without a legitimate excuse.

Brady claims he had a family commitment. A family commitment? That’s the kind of excuse you tell your boss when he asks you to come in to work on Sunday and file some papers for no extra pay. You do not tell the Nobel Peace Prize Winning President of the United States, arguably one of the most important people in the world, that a family commitment simply came up.
So why did Brady miss the Patriot’s meeting with Obama? Maybe he really did have a family commitment. Sometimes you forget that you scheduled a dinner date with Grandma or have to take Junior to his basketball practice. But maybe Brady is lying to cover up for something else. Here five things Brady may have done instead of meeting with the President.
1. Deflated Footballs
ZING! Take that Brady!
2. Pitched a pilot of his new show idea, “Brady’s Bunch.”
“So here’s the plot. The TV show stars myself and Tom Brady, getting into a bunch of goofy hi-jinks with my family members and friends. But get this, and get ready because this is going to BLOW. YOUR. MIND. I play every role! The dad, the mom, the brother, the sister, the best friend who lives next door, the sister in law, the dog, and whoever else is in the bunch. I’ve talked to Peyton and Papa Johns Pizza already and they are one-hundred percent on board to help get this thing off the ground as long as we have pizza being eaten in every scene. I’m telling you it is going to be a hit! No, I’ve never seen the Nutty Professor. Why do you ask?”
3. Captured by Tim Tebow
Possibly the most sinister of possibilities is Brady missing the White House event because of being kidnapped by Tim Tebow. Perhaps Tim Tebow has kidnapped Brady in an attempt to harvest his life essence and assimilate it with his own in order to become the best quarterback the Eagles have ever seen. Don’t assume Tebow will simply stop at Brady. He’s going for all the greats in the most despicable plan of sports domination since the Monstars stole the basketball powers of Ewing, Johnson, Barkley, Bogues, and Bradley. If this is the case then only MJ can save the NFL now.
4. Overslept
Maybe Brady just forgot to set his alarm clock. It happens to the best of us. Besides, Brady has already been to the White House three times, and if you’ve been there once, you’ve been there a thousand times. Who can blame the guy for wanting a little extra shut-eye?
5. Hid in plain sight.
Maybe Brady was there and we just didn’t recognize him. Maybe Brady’s television show has been rejected by the higher-ups because they do not believe he can act. Furious, Brady showed up at the White House in a suit and simply began acting like President Obama. His acting chops were so spectacular no one noticed that President Obama was actually Tom Brady. This possibility is made more plausible when one considers Obama said things like “Tom Brady. Now there’s a guy who can write a TV sitcom series where he plays every character,” and “Hey Patriots, you know that show The Brady Bunch? Tom should make a show called BRADY’S bunch!” This brings up the disturbing question of where is President Obama? Someone please find president Obama.
