Bret Bielema got himself a big ol’ Bret exas Bowl belt buckle

What do you do when you beat Texas in the Texas Bowl? Well, you get yourself a commemorative belt buckle, obviously!

If that wasn’t your first answer, you obviously aren’t Arkansas head football coach Bret Bielema, who decided to commemorate his team’s bowl win this past season in belt form, having a belt buckle specially made to commemorate the win.

I doubt that #WoooPig is trending on Twitter now, which is kind of a shame.

Bielema posted the photo of his new belt buckle, made by JT Custom Leather, on Twitter, four months after the victory. Bielema’s Razorbacks defeated the Texas Longhorns 31-7 in the Texas Bowl on Dec. 29.

Bielema seems to have taken the words of Mad Men‘s Lane Pryce to heart:

What’s that? You don’t think Arkansas’ football coach got this idea from a line from a prestige drama about the 1960s? Well, if you say so.

I have to say, it’s a bit strange that Bielema got the belt to celebrate a win to cap off a 6-6 season, especially since the win which came over another 6-6 team who isn’t even a rival for Arkansas.

If this is what Bielema does when his team wins the Texas Bowl, what would he do after a Fiesta Bowl or Cotton Bowl victory? Get a tattoo on his head? Get a commemorative Arkansas hog carved into his house?

Of course, God only knows what Bielema would do if his team won the national championship. That would have to be one big belt buckle.

Maybe each coach who beats Bielema’s Razorbacks this season should commemorate the victory by having their own belt buckle made. If teams exchange “old oaken buckets” and other such trophies when they beat rivals, would this really be any different? Plus, it would be great to see Nick Saban wearing one of these…and hating every minute of it.
