From Jameis Winston No. 1 overall to Mr. Irrelevant, what were the five most shocking selections during the 2015 NFL Draft in Chicago?

If there’s one evidentiary truth about the NFL Draft, it is as follows.

For all the hype surrounding the event, it becomes quite ho-hum once it gets rolling. Boxing fans are used to this feeling: all hype and very little substance.

Prospects that have been projected to go in the Top 10, all find themselves taken in that area. The guys who are on the cusp of Mr. Irrelevant or undrafted, always seem to sweat it out until the very end.

Thanks to the ridiculous number of mock drafts that are flown around the net these days, the word “surprise” and the NFL Draft don’t usually complement one another too often. This is especially the case from the point of view of the athletes and teams themselves.

By the same token, it is due to these “mock draft maniacs” that we, as fans, can allow ourselves the chance to raise an eyebrow at a certain selection from time to time.

And while the NFL Draft often passes us by with very little extreme shock, there is nothing better than watching fans in the audience grab their heads with both hands in a befuddled state after their team just took the wrong guy.

This is the true heart of the draft.

Allowing fans to become reactionary experts after a surprising selection is made is what this event is all about. Fans of the New York Jets have made this famous through the years as Radio City Music Hall hosted the mega event. Even in Chicago, we push that sentiment through.

Today, after a short breather which allowed less reaction and more analyzing, we rank the five most surprising selections from the 2015 NFL Draft:
