Stephen Curry gets ‘MVP’ chant at San Francisco Giants game
By Jack Crosby
Stephen Curry is the most popular person in the Bay Area and there was proof of that on Friday
With the Golden State Warriors clinching a trip to the NBA Finals recently with their win over the Houston Rockets, there’s really no doubt that Stephen Curry is the most popular person in the Bay Area. Sure, the San Francisco Giants have some pretty notable names, but Curry is quickly becoming one of the most polarizing sports figures that the area has ever seen.
Well, on Friday night, those worlds collided and the Giants faithful showed their appreciation for one of the best basketball players living today.
With the Warriors not opening up the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers until June 4, Curry decided that he would use some of the down time to take in the Giants game against the Atlanta Braves. Well, of course, he had to be shown on the big screen, and when he was, the “MVP” chants rained down upon him.
Bay Area folks are used to seeing their baseball team winning, but when it comes to basketball, Stephen Curry has become a god-like figure with how he has led this Warriors team back to the promised land.
