A look at the results for the WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 Champion vs. Champion match between John Cena and Kevin Owens.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2015 pitted the United States Champion, John Cena, against the NXT Champion, Kevin Owens, in a Champion vs. Champion match. The two began feuding after Owens answered Cena’s US Open Challenge a few weeks ago on RAW and proceeded to hit Cena with a pop-up powerbomb.

The two started the match feeling each other out with the crowd the hottest they had been all night. Owens then took control early, using brute force and a methodical pace of attack to get the edge on Cena. Even when Cena tried to comeback and hit Owens with an AA, Owens wiggled free and planted him with a DDT to stay in control.

Owens’ arrogance almost caught up to him when Cena sprung up and tried to get the roll-up pin, but that only angered Owens who went heavily back on the offensive after the attempted pin.

Even after eating more punishment from Owens, though, Cena caught Owens and hit him with the Five-Knuckle Shuffle and went for the AA. Owens countered, though, and sent Cena off the ropes and up for the pop-up powerbomb. That only yielded a two-count, though, with Cena kicking out.

Owens then went to the top rope, but Cena clipped the rope to send Owens down onto the turnbuckle. Owens then recovered and tried to hit a moonsault on Cena, who moved out of the way and hit the AA on a stunned Owens but Owens then kicked out.

Owens regained the momentum in the match with both competitors tired and then tried to hit Cena with the Five-Knuckle Shuffle. Cena countered into the STF. After Owens got out of the submission, though, he did hit Cena with an AA of his own, but Cena kicked out again.

Cena got going again soon after, though, hitting a top-rope tornado DDT and a top-rope diving leg drop on Owens. Owens kicked out of both pinfall attempts, though, and then went back on the offensive with a package powerbomb of sorts, but Cena again kicked out.

After trading blows, Cena hit a frustrated Owens with a springboard stunner, but Owens again kicked out and avoided the loss.

Owens then went into hyperdrive with an inverted superplex and a top-rope senton on Cena, but still couldn’t score a victory. However, he finally got the advantage when a surging Cena came at him off the ropes allowing him to hit the pop-up powerbomb. Cena couldn’t come back from that, staying down for three and giving the win to Owens.
