Kyrie Irving swats away Stephen Curry (Video)
Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving made his presence felt early as he swatted away Warriors guard Stephen Curry.
Ever since the Western Conference Finals ended, all the talk has been about Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry when it comes to the point guards in the NBA Finals.
With Kyrie Irving hobbled with tendinitis, many wondered if he would have any impact for the Cleveland Cavaliers on the court.
Well he quickly answered those questions in a big way to start Game 1 as he was all over Stephen Curry on the defensive end of the court.
As Stephen Curry drove to the hoop for the layup, Irving matched him step for step the entire way as he rejected his shot with a big left hand.
If Irving is still suffering from tendinitis, it hasn’t been noticeable thus far as he has been a machine on the defensive end of the floor leading to big scoring plays for the Cavaliers.
Just a few plays later, Irving would be at it again as he swiped the ball from Draymond Green for two easy points in transition.
All that time off since the last series seems to be working wonders thus far for Kyrie Irving.
Now can he match his defensive game offensively?
