NBA Finals: Kyrie Irving blocks Steph Curry’s game-winning shot (Video)
By Josh Hill
Kyrie irving had an impressive debut in the NBA Finals, including a game-saving block on Seph Curry with just seconds left on the clock.
The NBA Finals are all about clutch plays at the right moment — and Cleveland Cavaliers star guard Kyrie Irving delivered one of those in a big moment for his team.
With just seconds left on the clock, Kyrie Irving made the save of the postseason — and that includes some of the acrobatics saves we’ve seen in the Stanley Cup so far. What started as an easy layup for Steph Curry ended in a nasty Kyrie Irving block that saved the Cavaliers in Game 1.
The block gave the Cavaliers the ball back, and after they failed to score on the final possession of the game we headed to overtime. Regardless of how the game ended, this block by Kyrie Irving was about as clutch as it gets. Steph Curry and the rest of the world though he was in for an easy layup to take the lead and force Cleveland’s hand on the last possession of the game.
Instead, Kyrie rattled Steph Curry for a moment and reminded the MVP that he is as mortal as the rest of us. Everyone is susceptible to being smacked down and Kyrie Irving laid it on the line to show Steph Curry a lesson.
