The Cavaliers vs. Warriors looked like a good series, until injuries have sabotaged what was an exciting NBA Finals

In every single playoff series this postseason, something has happened to drastically alter things to make it a one-sided affair. Even in a series like in the Conference Semifinals where the Clippers and Rockets went a full seven games, something happened to make it one-sided.

Whether it’s the Clippers utterly imploding, John Wall’s hand breaking or Al Horford getting himself ejected, the NBA playoffs have been a series of significant disadvantages. That plague has carried to the NBA Finals, where in the very first game of the series a major injury has given massive repercussions to the overall event.

Losing Kyrie Irving is something that drastically alters the NBA Finals, but it doesn’t mean the Cavaliers are done. They still have the best player on the planet in LeBron James and a cast of bit players like Timofey Mozgov, Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith who are more than capable of helping bring a title to Cleveland.

Can it actually happen though or will this series suddenly become one-sided like all the other series this postseason?

Sure, the Warriors feel bad that the series just got significantly less competitive but they’re not about to forfeit the series because they feel bad for Cleveland. You don’t make friends on your way to the NBA Finals, you create victims in any way that you can.
