Sam Bradford gets drilled by Brandon Williams on first Eagles drive (Video)
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford took a big shot early on in a preseason contest against the visiting Baltimore Ravens.
That quarterback had a family!
The Philadelphia Eagles engineered a touchdown drive early on Saturday night against the Baltimore Ravens, but it wasn’t pretty as their quarterback Sam Bradford got beaten like a government mule in the backfield. He took some big shots for the first time since getting traded to the Eagles from the St. Louis Rams.
The biggest hit of all, however, came from Ravens defensive tackle Brandon Williams, who absolutely blew through the offensive line unblocked and took Bradford to the woodshed.
For a second, Bradford looked like he was broken in half from the big hit by Williams. Earlier in the drive, Bradford had taken an illegal shot below the knees from Terrell Suggs.
Eagles fans can breathe easy, however, as Bradford was able to overcome the odds and lead the team down the field for a score. It’s a good sign for the Eagles that their quarterback, who has had injury concerns his entire career, was able to hang in there and take some big shots.
Since it’s preseason, though, they may not want to let him take any more big ones. Which is why he was taken out after that first drive and replaced with Mark Sanchez.
