Daniel Negreanu, arguably the best poker player in the history of the game, wished prison rape on a DraftKings executive on Twitter on Thursday.

Amidst the FBI’s look into the practices of popular Daily Fantasy Sports sites such as DraftKings and FanDuel, Daniel Negreanu, poker’s No. 1 player on the all-time money list with over $30 million in live tournament earnings, is basically wishing that prison rape is in the future for one of the DraftKings employees under investigation.

It all started with this tweet from Negreanu.

Negreanu then elaborated on who he was referring to in another tweet.

Jon Aguiar is a DraftKings executive “in charge of developing high-volume fantasy players,” according to the New York Times. Part of the FBI’s investigation involves agents looking into “whether the site encouraged and accepted deposits and bets from states where the contests were prohibited.” According to the Times, “the information under review includes a post by Jon Aguiar, an executive in charge of developing high-volume fantasy players, on a public thread informing players how to deposit funds and play in contests in states and countries where the games are prohibited.”

Negreanu continued with a rape joke.

When poker players and the twitter poker community called him out for being terribly insensitive, he clarified that he was not joking and was being completely serious.

He is only saying that the reason he feels this way is personal. In this twitter conversation, he claims that his feelings are a natural human response.

Negreanu’s actions here are inexcusable and disgusting. For someone who is supposed to be one of poker’s biggest ambassadors, he truly has his head in the sand on this issue.
