The Dallas Mavericks are over that whole DeAndre Jordan thing, right? Not quite.

DeAndre Jordan was the source of one of the most indescribably shocking periods in NBA history. Despite verbally agreeing to a contract with his home-state Dallas Mavericks, Jordan signed the dotted line with the incumbent Los Angeles Clippers.

What’s ensued is the development of a rivalry based more in personal disdain than the pursuit of basketball glory.

Chandler Parsons has publicly discussed the fiasco, taking personal offense to Jordan’s misdirection. Mark Cuban compared Jordan’s decision to return to Los Angeles to makeup sex—specifically the negative repercussions of it.

At the Mavericks’ home opener, the team decided to take the feud to a new level:

Anything to get the crowd going, I suppose.

Cuban and the Mavericks aired an animated video before the home opener against the Toronto Raptors. In it, a comedic take on the Jordan saga was offered to the faithful fans still reeling from Jordan’s surprise signing and departure.

And yes, that is Blake Griffin in a crop-top.

Jordan leaving the Mavericks left the organization in an uncompromising position. His decision set many free agency signings in motion, leading to a number of centers signing elsewhere.

Had Jordan not put Dallas in the position he did, it could’ve signed one of the other high-profile centers to fill the rim protecting hole in the middle.

Instead, it’s left to put Blake Griffin in crop-tops and sunglasses.
