A look at the result on Saturday in the third fight between Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley

It’s been almost a year since Manny Pacquiao (57-6-2, 38 KOs) stepped into the ring for the “Fight of the Century” against Floyd Mayweather, a fight he lost, but on Saturday night it was time for the Pac-Man to get into the ring for possibly the final time. Saturday evening inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena, we’re getting the third installment in the saga of Manny Pacquiao and Timothy Bradley (33-1-1, 13 KOs).

As we all know by now, these two are no strangers to one another, having went against each other twice already. There was the infamous bout back in 2012 where Bradley was given the decision in a fight that many thought was clearly won by Pacquiao, but Pac-Man would get his revenge back in 2014.

Saturday night, it was time for these two to do it one more time in what is likely to be the last time Pacquiao is in the ring. You can follow along with the live updates below as they take place from the MGM Garden Arena on Saturday night for this much-anticipated showdown.

Round 1

Both fighters come to the center of the ring and feel out the jabs. Bradley starts working with the left quite a bit as things get underway here in this third fight. Bradley tried to get a quick one in by countering with the right but to no avail. As the first was coming to a close, Pacquiao did land a nice left right down the middle to Bradley with about under a minute left.

More or less, just a feeling out round.

Round 2

After a little more feeling out in this round, Pac-Man was able to land a solid right near the ropes. Much like in the first round, Pac tried to land the left down the middle again but this time it wasn’t as effective. Right before a tie up, Bradley landed a solid uppercut that was followed up by a nice right to the body.

They tried to attack more in this round than they did in the first, and near the end of the round Pacquiao landed some stiff jabs. That was definitely his round.

Round 3

Bradley is trying to get the jabs in, but Pacquiao keeps coming up with the nice blocks with the gloves. Eventually, though, Pac would land another straight left hand. Pac threw a right hand down the pipe, but Bradley landed a nice left hook and followed that up with a straight right to get himself back in this. They’d hit the ropes and each trade some nice jabs with one another.

Yet another pretty even round here in three. Also, on the replay, it appeared as if Pacquiao is having some trouble with that injured shoulder.

Round 4

Pacquiao is trying to stay the aggressor here, as he keeps backing Bradley down and landing his left hand shots. He’s been doing this so far for the most part. As he gets backed down more and more, Bradley is trying to land the right but he can’t get it in. Pacquiao then came back some more with the lefts. Pacquiao landed some more shots, but Bradley was able to get a nice right in before the bell.

Round 5

Pac goes right back to trying to back down Bradley immediately, the strategy that’s pretty much worked thus far. Again he hits another left right down the middle, about the fourth or fifth one that he’s landed clean now. But Bradley comes right back and lands a few jabs of his own, followed by another left by Pac. They’re starting to trade a little more in there now. Again, Pacquiao shakes off the shoulder a little bit, so it’s definitely a concern now.

With under 20 seconds to go in the round, the two trade flurries getting the crowd off their feet.

Round 6

Once again they come out ready to throw down, which is something that everyone wanted to see from the time this fight was announced. Then there was a little more dancing around from that part, as if they went back to the first to feel each other out once again.

This round didn’t end as eventful as the others, and Pac still holds the lead.

Round 7

They get to the center of the ring and they trade blows. One of the problems for Bradley, again, is that Pacquiao keeps backing him down and Bradley can’t seem to recover too well from that position. He backs him down again. With under 20 seconds, Pacquiao lands a right and Bradley goes down!

Manny is taking over as time goes on.

Round 8

As expected, Pacquiao comes right out as the aggressor in this round going right back to backing down Bradley. Finally, as he was backed up to the ropes, Bradley landed a right hook that was maybe the cleanest shot he’s hit all fight thus far, which is what he needs at this moment.

Then the excitement happened. Bradley landed a very nice left hand and that was followed up by a flurry of shots that had everyone thinking the knockout was coming. Pacquiao was clearly reeling on the ropes.

Bradley sorely needed that performance in that round.

Round 9

Now Bradley comes out as the aggressor as his corner is screaming at him to attack following the performance in Round 8. Bradley lands another hard right but that was countered with a left by Pacquiao. Bradley now looks a little more confident in there and he’s moving around the ring a little smoother as he looks for his next big shot.

Pacquiao came right back though, landed a nice right and BRADLEY DOWN AGAIN!

Bradley gets up after the right count and the two men trade flurries as the round comes to a close.

This is getting very interesting now.

Round 10

Little slower to start the 10th here, which is a little surprising considering the momentum that Pac left the ninth with. But he eventually goes right back to backing Bradley down, which might be the best move at this point down the stretch, just stick to what’s been working.

Bradley comes at Pac with the right but completely whiffs and gets stiffed with a shot from Manny. That was followed up by two nice left hands.

Manny is owning this fight, for the most part.

Round 11

The next to last round of this battle begins with Bradley amping up the aggression a little bit and trying to land the left jabs, but that wasn’t working out all that well. Manny’s confidence right now is through the roof as this comes to an end.

Yes, it’s a common theme and has been said a lot here, but Bradley just stays getting backed down. It’s literally the story of this fight.

With about 30 seconds to go in the round, the two men trade lefts, but nothing all too damaging. Especially compared to some of the shots we’ve seen in recent rounds.

Round 12

It’s time for the final round and the two men meet in the center of the ring. After moving around the center for a bit, Pacquiao moves away and claimed that Bradley got him a little low, but nothing was done. They went back at it and Bradley landed a soft right.

With nearly a minute left in the fight, the two men tied up and traded some blows. After they were broken up, Pacquiao got more aggressive.

The crowd starts chanting “Manny!” as we hit the 30-second mark in the bout and he just keeps enough distance from Bradley as the fight then comes to a close. Would be a shocker if Pacquiao didn’t get the unanimous win here. Overall, though, a better fight than a lot of people expected.

Result: Manny Pacquiao, Unanimous Decision (116-110 x 3)
