Things got heated before Game 3 as Lightning forward Brian Boyle and Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic exchanged words during warmups.

Game 3 in the second round series between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Islanders should be a pivotal one as both teams are trying to gain the advantage in the best-of-seven series after splitting the first two games in Tampa. Just before the puck dropped at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Tuesday, things got very heated as Lightning forward Brian Boyle bumped Islanders defenseman Travis Hamonic. Both sides exchanged words.

"Travis Hamonic and Brian Boyle set the tone prior to Game 3. #StanleyCup #TBLvsNYI https://t.co/7yVAz6eKT8— NBC Sports (@NBCSports) May 3, 2016"

Boyle and Hamonic appear to bump each other. It’s nobody’s fault as neither side seemed to go out of its way to bump the other. However, Boyle seemed to take exception to the bump. That’s not surprising, as the third period of Game 2 (which the Lightning won) was very physical and was filled with post-whistle action.

In a seven game series, tempers are not easily cooled if they are flared. Expect both sides to be physical in Game 3 as the Islanders and the Lightning have quickly developed an immense hatred for each other.
