Cam Newton to have his own show on Nickelodeon

NFL MVP Cam Newton will have his own show on Nickelodeon this summer.

Cam Newton has received praise for giving the football to a kid as soon as he scores a touchdown on the field. Newton is hoping to build on that popularity with a new TV show.

The show, which debuts June 3 at 8:00 pm, is called All in with Cam Newton.

When Newton was at Auburn, the football program’s motto was “all in”. That approach, plus the incredible talents of Cam, helped the Tigers to win a national championship in 2010.

Newton has taken those talents and excelled in the NFL as well. 2015 was a breakout season of sorts, as he set career marks for most touchdowns thrown and fewest number of interceptions. The Carolina Panthers went 15-1 during the regular season and ultimately lost in Super Bowl 50.

On the show, Newton will help kids strive for their best. He’ll be the host, but there will also be guest professional athletes as well.

As with any show on Nickelodeon, this will be geared towards kids. So while you may be the biggest Cam Newton fan in the world, if you’re over the age of 16 it might not be your new favorite show. But if you have small kids – especially ones in the age range of 8-14 – they will probably enjoy it.

Good for Cam Newton to invest in young people, and put a smile on their faces. It’s always cool to see him find a kid to give his touchdown scoring football to during games. This show won’t make him into a television phenomenon, which gives you more respect for him because he’s just trying to reach youth rather than shine a spotlight on himself.

It’s the summer, so even though I probably won’t be a huge fan of the content, I’ll tune in because there’s not much else on TV.
