Tomas Hertl of the Sharks scored his second goal of Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals to give the Sharks a 3-0 lead.

The San Jose Sharks have gotten out to an incredible start in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals against the St. Louis Blues. After scoring a goal in the first period and the second period, Sharks forward Tomas Hertl added to his first period goal with a third period goal to give the Sharks a 3-0 lead.

That was Hertl’s second goal of the evening after scoring a goal in the first period. Hertl’s third period goal is his fifth goal of the postseason and his eighth point of the postseason. He added 46 points, including his first career 20 goal season, in 81 regular season games during the 2015-16 season. The 22 year old forward is now tied for sixth on the team in playoff points and is fourth on the team in playoff goals.

Hertl represents the Sharks forward depth. They have gotten production from all over their lineup. That makes it very hard for opponents to lock in on stopping one specific line. Even if they can stop the Sharks’ top forward line, the other lines have stepped up big time.
