Golden State Warriors big man Mo Speights missed an open layup at a crucial time in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals.

After a huge third quarter, the Golden State Warriors took the lead against the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. With the Warriors finally finding their groove, they put some players on the floor to give their starters a rest.

One of those players that hit the floor was big man Mo Speights. While Speights was trying to help the Warriors add onto their lead, he ended making a critical mistake, when he missed an open layup.

Even worse, he missed it off of what was probably the best pass of the game from Shaun Livingston. After the miss, Serge Ibaka would come down the floor and make a big shot to put the Thunder back in the game.

The Warriors would take a timeout on the floor and Speights would be removed from the game. It’s easy to say that many others have missed layups before, but Speights couldn’t afford to miss one here.

Sometimes the big stage will get the best of everyone on the floor.
