William & Mary will play Bryant in an elimination game in the NCAA Baseball Tournament on Saturday.

After a long season of baseball, 64 teams have earned the right to compete for a National Championship. While it’s a great time for a program to get in and have their chance to compete on the biggest stage, there are plenty of quick exits.

On Friday, both William & Mary and Bryant learned just how hard it is to advance in the NCAA Tournament, when they both lost in their first game of the double-elimination Charlottesville Regional.

As a result, the two teams will now face each other in the loser’s bracket on Saturday in Virginia. For one team, it will be a trip home and a season of promise over, while the other will stave off elimination and have a chance to keep their dreams of advancing on alive.
